In the studio I have a little ‘stiched onto cardboard’ stack of pearl buttons. There is foil over the cardboard to make the shimmering of the pearls stand out even more. There is a red string that wraps the three layers together into a little bundle. There is evidence of a hand taking time to present these buttons to the world

This bundle has been with me a long time — I got these buttons at a small town Italian flea market in my late teens.

This month’s offering is a small brooch. Like the buttons, a presentation of the mundane transformed. Of imperfection honored. Of repetition making beauty. A small bundle of a thing.
