Balance / Where Can It Be Found?

Balance-Landscape.jpg

As typical for a Libra, I’m innately in search of balance.

Currently, the various roles that I’ve established over the years are shapeshifting.
I think this’s something we can all relate to.
Where’s the balance? We’re all in search of this now!

In this shelter-in-place / Covid-19 moment in time we’re all having to adapt and find a new equilibrium.

Challenges and setbacks are forcing us to find creative solutions, redefine priorities, explore other options, and open doors to new opportunities.

Some of this shapeshifting is fast moving, some feels slooooow, and some has to be let go of for the moment to be picked back up on some unknown day in the future.

For me, the different roles I play can easily feel disjointed, and I’m wanting and looking to connect them with clarity so that decisions can be made.

Currently what’s helping me find bits and pieces of clarity, grounding and balance is an image of a braid — different, distinct strands that intertwine and all take root in the same thing.

“I am a braid of different strands that root in the same thing.”

I have distinct roles and they intertwine, while also staying distinctly their own.

As I identify what the strands of the braid are for me I ground, I calm, some balance is experienced.

As I consider each strand I experience more of these feelings, even amongst the challenges:

  • What’s flowing?

  • Where’s the anxiety?

  • What do I need to research and learn more about?

  • What’s connecting me with community?

  • What do I look forward to in my days?

  • What needs to slow down or stop altogether?

Currently, the thickest strands that I’m touching base with:

  • My jewelry making practice

  • My volunteer work, position as the board chair of Art Jewelry Forum

  • My yoga teaching and Reset business

  • My newest role growing a baby, becoming a mother

What are the strands in your braid that are needing your attention?
